Information provided by individuals who file a complaint in writing or submit the Consumer Complaint Submission Form will be used by Ad Standards for the purpose of investigating the complaint in accordance with the procedures established under the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards and for communicating with individuals about Ad Standards' activities. The name of the individual who files a complaint and the individual’s contact information, along with a copy of the complaint and the fact that the individual filed a complaint, may be forwarded to the advertiser for the purpose of responding to the complainant and to the Consumer Response Council for the purpose of adjudicating the complaint if the individual making the complaint authorizes Ad Standards to do so by completing the appropriate “box” in the Consumer Complaint Submission Form.
