The Ad Standards Clearance Services team has a depth of experience and expertise across all five categories of advertising preclearance. Review services are available in both French and English and are carried out by analysts who are experts in their respective fields and have extensive knowledge of advertising and communications. Each Ad Standards analyst is dedicated to working collaboratively, consultatively and responsively to help advertisers meet applicable regulatory requirements and industry guidelines. Vice President, Ad Standards Clearance Services
Nicole has more than 20 years experience in advertising, most recently as Group Account Director, Vice-President, in the agency world. She has worked with a wide range of large national and international clients in agencies in Montreal and Toronto. She has acquired expertise in a number of relevant business sectors, including packaged goods, restaurants and cosmetics. Nicole, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia University, is fluently bilingual, and has an excellent knowledge of communications in English and French markets.
Analyst, Ad Standards Clearance Services, Consumer Drug Section
Esmaa holds a post-graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs from Humber College and a B.Sc. in Biology from York University. Before joining Ad Standards, she worked in regulatory affairs for 6 years, most recently in the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Division of Johnson & Johnson Inc. Esmaa is fully bilingual.
Senior Analyst, Ad Standards Clearance Services, Food, Consumer Drug and Cosmetic Sections
Sandra, a Registered Dietician, holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Communications from Ryerson University. Before joining ASC, she conducted quality assurance audits of food preparation facilities and interned at Nestlé Canada Inc. Sandra is fully bilingual and reviews non-prescription drug, natural health product and food advertising.
Senior Analyst, Ad Standards Clearance Services, Children’s, Alcoholic Beverage and Food Sections & Client Services Manager
Jean currently reviews advertising for food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and children’s advertising. He is fully bilingual and has been with Ad Standards since 1999. Through the Institute of Communication Agencies, he holds a Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional (CAAP) designation. Jean attended the University of Ottawa where he studied History and Communications.
Analyst, Clearance Services, Food Section
Danielle holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from the University of Guelph. Before joining Ad Standards, she worked on the client services team at Mérieux NutriScience, ensuring food safety and quality through microbiological, analytical chemistry testing and nutritional analysis across North America. Danielle is fully bilingual.

Dan holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. Before joining Ad Standards, Dan was a support and content specialist for a music retail company, a newspaper copy editor and a university communications officer. Dan is fully bilingual.
